Bad Münstereifel School Complex

Project Description

Bad Münstereifel Seminary School Complex

The partially 100-year-old seminary of the Archdiocese of Cologne was to be repurposed. A comprehensive redevelopment aimed to make the building usable as a 5-stream school complex. A key objective was to highlight the unique appeal of the interplay between old and new structures. Particularly noteworthy are the rainwater harvesting system and the BUS-controlled lighting and heating system.

Awarded the BHU Federal Prize for particularly cost-effective restoration of historic buildings in 2003.
