Project Description
The buildings are designed to create open spaces for users and foster personal development. They are therefore intended to be bright, inviting, spacious, and pleasant, both in their spatial impact and material composition. Materials such as wood, steel, concrete, and glass, each visible and tactile with their distinct qualities, are artfully combined to form a harmonious whole. The roof structure of the hall and forum is so delicate that, in conjunction with the circular glazing, it creates an impression of “floating,” conveying a sense of spaciousness, lightness, and freedom for the user. The surrounding nature is integrated, enhancing this effect.
The lightness of the supporting structure, achieved with minimal resource consumption, also positively impacts cost-effectiveness. (The hall truss weighs approximately 100 kg/m, using about 0.1 m³ of FSH and 1 m of steel cable, while a reinforced concrete truss with comparable load-bearing capacity weighs approximately 1,400 kg/m.)
The entire tensioning area is not visually lost; instead, it benefits the space, meaning the construction does not consume space but actively shapes it. Consequently, excellent architectural design, combined with optimized construction and building services, is inherently economical.
