Walberg Bornheim Primary School
Project Description
The primary school in Walberberg was expanded with a forum as part of this construction project. The covered break area was enclosed with a curved wood and glass structure and integrated into the interior space. Furthermore, during the construction, the administration on the ground floor was reorganized, and necessary maintenance measures were carried out. The existing urban planning situation largely remained unchanged. Only the side facing the schoolyard received a clearly defined and highly visible entrance. For structural reasons, it was necessary to work with lightweight construction components. The roof construction comprises load-bearing V-steel supports and Kerto panels with solid wood rafters and core insulation. A foil sealing was then installed on top, along with a lightweight green roof.
