Project Description
New Construction / Renovation of a Child and Youth Educational Facility
In total, five buildings will be newly constructed, four buildings renovated, and one building will be converted and extended. The ten existing buildings, which were erected on the approximately 56,000 m² site from the late 1950s onwards, had long since ceased to meet the prescribed minimum standards. Five buildings will be demolished and replaced with new buildings.
The former group homes will be replaced by contemporary and future-oriented multi-functional buildings, enabling inclusive living for children with and without disabilities.
One of the existing group homes will be converted into a family apartment building and extended with a two-story cube. Four other group homes, whose building envelopes were already energy-efficiently renovated in 2012, will be optimized and upgraded internally.
In place of the administration building, a new building was constructed, providing space for family support services, a therapy center, as well as common areas, meeting rooms, and a multi-functional event hall for site management.
